Common Name : Chandni / Crape jasmine

Synonym : Tabernaemontana coronarialoom / Ervatamia divaricata L.
About : Tabernaemontana divaricata is an evergreen much branched shrub 2 to 3 meters in height, with abundant, milky sap. Leaves are dark green and pointed. Opposite, each pair unequal, glossy, Elliptic lanceolate 6 to 15 centimeters long, Flowers are, white, fragrant, and borne singly or in small clusters on the stem. Corolla-tube is about 2 centimeters long and the limb is spreading, about 5 centimeters in diameter five- petaled and yellow at the center. Native to India and now cultivated throughout South East Asia and the warmer regions of continental Asia. The other variety of carnation of India is famous too which has double layered flowers. It is propagated through stem cuttings. Flowers blooms in spring but flowers appear sporadically all year The branches tend to grow almost parallel to the ground giving the shrub an attractive horizontal aspect The branches tend The stems exude milky latex. The juice of the flowers can be applied over eyes as eye drops for eye diseases. The flower juice mixed with oil can be applied over skin diseases.
